CodeIgniter UserGuide Firefox Extension

Posted in Web Development on December 3rd, 2008 by Simon – 19 Comments

This simple Firefox extension allows quick(er), easy access to the CodeIgniter User Guide. The User Guide is actualy incorporated into the extension for speed, but you can still access the online version for the most up-to-date version.

If you’re not familiar with CodeIgniter, it is a light-weight MVC framework for PHP. It isn’t nearly as large as PEAR, Cake or Zend - but it is very easy to get the hang of, and has a lot of nice useful features

Also available from Mozdev

If you like this sort of thing, there is also one for jQuery.

jQuery Menu Firefox Extension

Posted in Web Development on July 17th, 2008 by Simon – 12 Comments

For all those jQuery freaks out there. Clicking multiple times to get to documentation is for suckers - add this handy menu right into the top of your Firefox menu and save valuable seconds!
Simply click the image to the right to install it. Any suggestions on how to make this even more useful will be welcomed.

For those not familiar with jQuery, it is a Javascript framework/library that will make you rethink the way you write Javascript. As the quote on their home page accurately says:

“You start with 10 lines of jQuery that would have been 20 lines of tedious DOM JavaScript. By the time you are done it’s down to two or three lines and it couldn’t get any shorter unless it read your mind”

NOTE: Requires Firefox 3

You can also install it by clicking here.

Also available at Mozilla Addons (thanks Rey)
