Web Address: http://www.qha.com.au
Tasks: Website Redesign, full featured CMS
Technology: PHP, MySQL & XHTML/CSS
The existing website was very old and out of date. QHA&AS decided on a complete overhaul with a fresh, dynamic and professional new look and feel to set them apart from their competitiors. They also engaged the services of a copywriter who went through all material they provided for the website.

The new website design includes:

  • A reversed logo on a blue gradient background to add texture to the website and give it a sleek finish
  • Text based menu (no images) which adds keywords to the website and is a big plus for the search engines – it is also simple and user friendly
  • Menu rollovers remain active when you navigate to a different page to indicate what section you’re in (good for usability)
  • Translucent drop down menus that are straight forward to use (inline with the users previous experience)
  • Search box to allow website visitors to search for keywords (helps the user find what they are looking for quickly)
  • The free call number has been incorporated into the top banner in a large and dominant position – the easier it is for people to get in contact with you, the better.
  • 4 feature images were sourced relating to sound and hearing that rotate in a fading image slideshow. On all subsequent pages a random image is displayed rather than slideshow. That way each page looks fresh and different each time you go there but you are not distracted by the slideshow when you are trying to read content.

The custom-built cms incorprates the ability to:

  • Manage page content (edit page text, insert and position images, links etc)
  • Modular management of clinic locationsm, faqs & links

Other usability / seo features:

  • The logo links back to the home page (good for usability)
  • All home page links point to the full url http://www.qha.com.au rather than index.php to avoid link popularity dilution
  • Unique title tags (good for seo)
  • Valid xhtml 1.0 transitional
