Purple Palate Case Study
Purple Palate’s mission is simple – to bring amazing, handcrafted wines to your table and tell their story. They specialise in wines from the Barossa, however their knowledge of, and passion for wine goes far beyond just that region.

Having just opened several bottle shops and a fantastic restaurant in Brisbane called Bar Barossa, Purple Palate is poised to become one of Australia’s leading brands for fine wine and events.
Kintek actually had the pleasure of visiting Bar Barossa for a staff party, and we can testify first hand – the food, wine and service are absolutely top notch. Do yourself a favour, and be sure to check it out!
The Website
Kintek first joined forces with Purple Palate in 2009, just as the brand was launched. Purple Palate recognised the need for a strong digital presence, and worked hard with us to produce more than just an online wine store.
For the retail portal http://www.purplepalate.com, we developed a custom content management system to enable Purple Palate to maintain a large repository of information centred around wine, wineries, regions and varieties. The website contains an intuitive wine finder, a full feature ecommerce shopping system and great blog articles about wine.
We also developed an online file storage catalogue which allows Purple Palate staff to collaborate and upload images and documents to be used within the office or published onto the website.
Social Media
The purple palate website also incorporates a fantastic free monthly newsletter sent via Kintek’s newsletter management system and deep social media integration.
Purple Palate have several talented employees working around the clock to maintain and contribute quality content to the website, and to interact with the community through social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook.
Bar Barossa – mini site
Kintek produced a custom mini site dedicated to Purple Palate’s bar – Bar Barossa which opened to acclaimed review in August 2009.
Satellite Websites
Kintek has also worked on a number of smaller satellite websites for the Purple Palate brand including their Wholesale arm SWWS: http://swws.com.au and an Iconinc Wine Cellar in the Barossa called Tanunda Cellars.
